FABRIC FLOWER TEE CRAFT

Got an old tee too dear to dispose off?.These fabric flowers made from an old tee are dead easy and are cute ways to decorate your rather dull tee-shirts.Once you have got it,you will never stop making them!!!!

YOU'LL ONLY NEED:
Your old tee .
Thread and scissors .
                    Rip your old tee cutting three thin strips of cloth.You can increase the lenghth as to how big you want your flower to be .Now push each strand in either sides to make them elastic and durable.Take your pieces together and tie a small knot at an end .


Now start plaiting the pieces in the way girls do their hair.You should do every plait tight and firm .
When you have finished with it round the plaited cloth so as to get a flower .This is the most important part,start from the begining of the roll and sew sides carefully.

.Continue the process until you have two or three fabric flowers.Attach the flowers to your tee carefully.Thats it .Now show it off to your frnds and get ready to hear "wowwss".

ICE CREAM STICK BOOKMARKS

Before throwing up used ice-cream sticks,why don't we make bookmarks out of it?Another great craft from outsideacademic.
You'll need:
Ice -cream sticks
Chart Paper
Poster colours
Markers.
1,Paint the stick in dark red or similar shades.
2,Cut out circles from the chart paper and draw in funny expressions or quotes.You'll need two such faces for a bookmark.
3.Paste one of the face over the other as shown in the figure so that it can rest over the papers when used.
3.Stick the circles on to the stick and let it dry.
4,You can also give a line of belt for your funny bookmark.
That's it! Now be ready to show it off to your friends.

GARBAGE TIN MONSTER



Ready made garbage tins are rather dull.SO,why don't we make a funny trash tin ?This craft piece will be excellent for kids room tables.
YOU WILL NEED:
Paper cup
Poster colours
Yellow chart paper

Paint the cup in bright red.Draw in eyes in thechart paper .Cut them out and glue them to the center of the cup.
Write a caption in the chart like the one shown here.Cut it out and paste.Use your markers to draw hangings as shown.
For the top ,cut chart in a zig-zag way and paste it inside the cup.
That's it!Now all you have to do is to find enough craft wastes to fill it!! :)

JUTE BOTTLE

This is a classic craftpiece for your home and is easy to make too.

YOU'll need:
An empty round liqiour bottle
Jute thread
Glue
 1.         Mark the size of the central gap with your sketch pens.
2. Apply some glue around it and start rounding the jute carefully without slipping off, adding glue as you go..
3.When you have completed about 10-12 rounds extend the thread as shown and start rounding the jute on the neck of the bottle.
4.After having 5-6 rounds glued in,extend a length of the thread to resemble the handle as shown.Attach it with the bottom thread.

5.Now we should give an extra elegance to the bottle cap.Apply glue and stick the thread to it in the pattern shown.

Beadysock flowers

Though they look delicate in sight ,they are easy to make.Once you master it's technique ,you can make loads of these flowers for your bedside table.
You'll need:
Craft socks
Thread beads
Wire

1.For making the petal,make a circular shape with the wire,it will be easier if you use a bottlecap for base.You'll need four such frames for a flower.
2.Cover the frames with craft sock as shown.Take a length of wire and fold in at the top making a loop.Insert three to five thread beads as shown. (Fig 2)
3.Attach each petals around the wire-bead frame by tying with thread as you go.When you have completed adding all four petals,adjust their postures .That's it.Now you can cover the wire stem with green tape.

CERAMIC FLOWER POT

Ceramic powder mixture is used to give life to beautiful sculptures on pots.These  flowers are lovely and gives your guests a warm welcome to your room.Theoretically,it is among the range of advanced crafts,but once you begin making these flowers you will know how easy and cool they are.
You'll need:
1.Ceramic powder
2.China clay
3.Plaster of paris
(In the ratio of 3:1:1)
4.Acrylic paints
5.Fevicol
           
Paint your pot in black .Mix ceramic powder,china clay and plaster of paris with a little water and fevicol to make a soft dough.If the mixture becomes loose,add some more ceramic powder.For the centre of the sunflower,make a rough ball of the dough and pinch with a fork to make small dots.You should do all the shaping as quick as you can as they are likely to harden fastly.Attach it to the center of the pot.
For the petals,shape the mixture into petal shapes as shown and make lines in it with a hair comb.Attach them to the center piece.

Make leave shapes with your hand and attach them to either side of the flower as shown.

That's it.Now you can colour your flower using shades of red and yellow.Okay,now,have the patience to let  it dry and get it ready to be admired by your friend and family.

GLITTER TRAY

Giving an extra radiant look to your old tray will please your guests.Here is another great craft from outsideacademic.

What you'll need:                        



3D Glitter glue(silver and gold)
Red or Black poster colour
An old tray








Paint the tray in red/black.Let it dry.Draw oval shapes in the tray as shown using 3D glitters alternatively.
Let it dry.You can use the tray to serve nuts or even use it to keep your accessories.

THREADY BANGLES



Do you wish to add an extra enhance to your accesories?The first thing to start with are your bangles.Wooden bangles are at  top trend;why don't we make it a little more trendy?
 What you'll need:                          
   Broad bangles                            
    Double colour embroidery thread


Make a small knot in the bangle and start wrapping the bangle with the thread without leaving much gap in between.When you've reached where you' begun,make another tiny knot.

That's it.Now ,hang out with bangles that are in contrast with your costumes.

Quirky eggs

Egg shells are used to make numerous craft projects.Here is another great egg craft from 'outsideacademic.'
 YOU'LL NEED:
Egg
acrylic paints
chart paper
                 Pierce a hole in the top of the egg  and empty it of its contents.Paint the egg in light violet.Pour some sand into the egg through the hole so that it is steady.
Cut out triangular shapes from the chart for the ears.Fold its ends and glue it in to the back of the egg.
Use eye stickers or paint in eyes as shown in figure.Cut out paper from the chart to make the nose and mouth of the figure.
Cut out 2 eliptical shapes from the chart and glue them on to the bottom of the egg.Place the egg in a bottle cap for extra support.

CARDBOARD CABINETS

Have piles of cardboard package boxes?With a little effort you can turn them into colourful cabinets .

You'll need:
Cardboard boxes
Poster colours
Milk bottle caps
Charms
Pins
Paint each box in the colour of your choice.Mark an appropriate measure for your doors and cut.


Attach the door knobs as shown.To give it an extra thickness add a cardboard piece at the back and fold in the pin carefully to the side.
Your cardboard cabinets are ready to keep your accessories safe.

BOTTLE CAP BUGS

These amazing crafts will give your room a haunted and creepy look.You can even hang them around in your wall.


All you need is:

  • old bottle caps
  • Thick wires
  • Poster colours
Colour the caps in the colour of insects of your choice..
For ladybug colour in dark red and give black spots and details.
For the spider paint in black and add spooky eyes .
Use pliers to cut the wires.Each bug should have 3 pairs.Pierce holes in the cap and attach it to the cap or adjust it in folds inside the cap.

ANGRY BIRDS BRACELET


Have a craze for angry birds?.So,why don't you try this amazing craft?Let your friends be bewitched by you cool wrist band.
You'll  need:
acrylic colours
old bottle caps
jump rings      
band 
colour the inside part of the cap in bright red and white .After it dries,add eyes and details.
Pierce holes in the sides of the cap and insert jump rings. Fold and insert the band in the jump rings and tie in the size of your arm.

Tie uninflated balloons one by one on to the slipper band.Make sure to use different colours alternatively. 

MOUTH POP UP CARD


Like to share hand made pop up cards?Here is the way to make a mouth pop up card easily.You can turn them into lively monsters,fishes or birds that pop up when you open the card.




YOU'LL NEED:
Card stock
scissors
chart paper
Fold an A4 size chartpaper and make a cut in the foldedside.it should reach to the centre of the card.

Fold it backwards and forewards as shown.

Push the fold inside the card as shown.The inside should look like this.
Fold the card carefully.

CRAFT STICK TRINKET BOX



Give your table a cosy and enchanting look with this cute crafty box.

 For the base,Take two sticks and glue sticks to them as shown.

Build the sides using the mechanism of arranging logs i.e glue  sticks on two  sides horizontally and on top of it ,glue in two sticks vertically.                                                  
continue the process until you reach an appropriate height.
For lid, place two sticks vertically and glue in sticks across it.
Decorate the lid of your box in the way you like.

how to make a kaleidoscope


KALEIDOSCOPE



MATERIALS

three mirror strips(15 cm long and 4 cm wide)
broken bangle pieces
a circular plane glass
coloured cardboard tube
To make a kaleidoscope,join the mirrors to form a prism as shown.
Fix them in a circular cardboard tube or tube of thick chart paper.Make sure that the tube is slightly longer than the mirror strips.close one end of the tube by a card board disc having a hole in the centre through which you can see.To make the disk durable,paste a piece of transparent plastic sheet under the cardboard disc.At the other end,touching the mirrors,fix the circular plane glass platePlace the coloured bangle pieces on this glass plate .close this end of the tube by a ground glass plate.Allow enough space for the colour pieces to move around.YOUR KALEIDOSCOPE IS READY.When you peep through the hole, you'll be able to see a variety of patterns in the tube.

WOOLY UMBRELLA


This is a rear,easy piece of craft that will beautify your room.try it out.
.
You'll need

wire-umbrella frame(available in craft stores)
wool
 Cover the base of the frame by wrapping the wool around it.
When you have finished with the base ,start covering the middle wire with the same process until you reach the top.
Take a round in one of the umbrella sticks and reach the next wire .take a loop in it and continue the process till you have finished with the top frame.
The insides should look like this.



You can decorate it by hanging small bells on the sides of the top frame.

   Light bulbs
   Acrylic colours
 Decorative cloth
Colour the bulbs glass with orange  and top with light green acrylic colour.
